Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Pollen ("we", "our", "us") is a product of Elytron Labs, operated by Sincero Ventures LLP. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Access

When you install Pollen, we access your store data through platform APIs (Shopify, WooCommerce) with the permissions you grant during installation. This includes:

  • Product information (titles, descriptions, SKUs, variants, images, metafields)
  • Store information (store name, platform plan)
  • Collection and category data

1a. Account Data

When you sign in to Pollen with an identity provider (Google, GitHub, or others we add), we store your email address, name, and avatar from that provider. This is used solely to sign you in and to link your store(s) to one account - never sold or shared. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard ("Delete my Pollen account"); this removes your email, identities, and store links. Deleting your account does not delete store data - each store has its own "Disconnect & erase data" action for that.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Product enrichment: We analyze your product data using AI to generate enhanced descriptions, structured facts, and metadata.
  • AI analysis: Product data and images are sent to AI services for enrichment. Data sent to AI services is not stored by those services beyond the duration of the request.
  • Protocol compliance: We generate structured data (Schema.org, llms.txt) to improve your store's discoverability.

3. Data Storage

  • Session tokens are stored securely in our database.
  • Product metadata and enrichment data are stored to provide the service.
  • Enrichment results are cached to avoid unnecessary reprocessing.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except:

  • With your e-commerce platform (Shopify/WooCommerce), to manage your products (as directed by you)
  • With Google (Gemini API), solely to analyze products for enrichment

4a. Hive

Hive is a cross-store benchmark: pseudonymized catalog signals (titles, types, tags, category, readiness signals, barcodes - never your store domain or any identifier that ties a contribution back to you) are aggregated so merchants can see how their catalog compares to their category.

  • WooCommerce stores participate by default when you connect (this is disclosed at connection); you can opt out anytime from your dashboard.
  • Shopify stores participate only if you explicitly opt in from the app's Hive settings.
  • When you opt out or disconnect, your raw contributions are removed within 30 days.
  • De-identified aggregate statistics derived from contributions (for example, category-level attribute frequencies) cannot be traced to any store and are retained indefinitely.
  • Your public storefront pages remain subject to ordinary web crawling - by us and anyone else - regardless of contribution status.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as the app is installed. For Shopify users, when you uninstall Pollen, we delete all stored data within 30 days in compliance with Shopify's data protection requirements. For WooCommerce users, data is retained until you request deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You can at any time:

  • Uninstall Pollen to delete all associated data
  • Contact us to request data export or deletion

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure token storage, and access controls. Tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to client-side code.
